Nuggets Small Forwards

Nuggets starter Danilo Gallinari tore his ACL late in the season and there is a possibility that he may not be back until December. When he comes back he is still the obvious starter, but he needs to continue to improve. He has a decent three point shot, but, in my opinion, he takes too many. He also like to try to play ISO a lot which normally ends very badly. He plays his best when Ty Lawson is on the floor and does not create his own shot.

Wilson Chandler did and excellent job backing him up when he was healthy. He played even better when Gallo went down and he got more minutes he played great. However, he played terrible in the playoffs and could not buy a shot to save his life. He will continue to be a good backup, but I can envision a scenario where Denver decides to trade him. He is an attractive prospect who can score on his own and he plays good defense. However, I have a hard tim envisioning what Denver would be able to get in return.

Corey Brewer is likely not going to be on the team next season, which makes it even harder to trade Chandler. Brewer played awesome all year, but he too took a terrible fall in the playoffs. He played great defense all year and was a great fit for this running team. He did have a tendency to take too many shots which resulted in a low field goal percentage. He will find a team to be on next season and I am sure they will be happy with the result.

Quincy Miller never got any meaningful playing time and when he was on the court it was either really good or really bad. He does have potential. He is a decent shooter and his length can bother players on the defensive end. It is possible that he could get some playing time early next season due to Gallo's injury.

With Gallo out for the beginning of the year and Brewer likely to leave in free agency, they Nuggets will be thin at this position. Iguodala could be able to fill in and he might start at this position if Karl would like Chandler to come off of the bench. This part of the lineup might be the weak link until Gallo comes back from his torn ACL, but they will have to make due.
