Minnesota Timberwolves Offseason Needs

Trade for Eric Gordon or Draft a Shooting Guard:
This is a must. Gordon is often injured, but when he isn't he is a top notch scorer. The font office needs to prove to Kevin Love that they are trying to improve the team around him. The Timberwolves do not have a viable option at shooting guard so I would not be surprised if they traded their first round pick for him. If they don't trade for him, CJ McCollum should be their draft pick. He is a combo guard, but he could play next to Rubio as a scorer. He can score from inside and out which is something the Wolves need. Outside of Love, there is no one on the team who can create their own shot. They need someone like that.

Sign Nikola Pekovic:
If they don't go after Pek they can kill Love goodbye. They literally have nobody behind him. It would prove to Love that they have no interest in surrounding him with talent. If they lose Pek, they could go after Cody Zeller or Rudy Gobert. Gobert is raw, but has loads of potential. Zeller on the other hand does not have much potential, but he is a well rounded player.

Small Forward:
I think the Brewers should look to go after Corey Brewer. He already played for them once, but he could be more successful this time because he has grown as a player since they traded him. They will not likely find a small forward that can start either with their draft pick or in free agency. Small forward is not their biggest need though. Andrei Kirilenko is a solid starter and Mickael Gelabale is a good backup. His shooting helped the Wolves down the stretch. This is something they should try to address next season.

If the Wolves don't retain Pekovic and don't trade for Eric Gordon or draft CJ McCullom they are likely in trouble. They will likely either trade for Gordon or draft McCullom, but retaining Pek is the main thing they have to do. If they aren't willing to pay him, I am willing to bet Love is a goner sooner than later. Small forward can wait, but there is no doubt it is still a need on this team, but shooting guard and center are bigger issues.
