Golden State Warriors Offseason Needs

Resign Carl Landry:
Carl Landry was a rock for the Warriors in the playoffs when David Lee went down. Lee should be back in full health next season, but that does not mean that the Warriors will not need him next season. He is a great big to have coming off of the bench, he can shoot the ball and grab rebounds. He has a player option for next season and there is a good chance that he opts out after his great playoff run. He will likely command around 8 million a year. He is getting older so I would only sign him for around three yeas, but he would give them a great three years. If he does not opt out of his deal they should be looking to resign him before the deadline so he does not hit the free market.

Guard Depth:
Jarret Jack might leave in free agency to find a starting point guard position. If they have the opportunity to resign him they should try, but if he is asking for too much they should avoid him. They do not have any draft picks so their only salvation is in free agency. There is not much in the way of free agent point guards, but Devin Harris would be a good option. Harris would come on the cheap due to some disappointing seasons in Utah and Atlanta. He would make for a perfect backup point guard. He has not shot well from the field in the last couple of seasons, but he would not have to shoot so much if he were surrounded by Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson. Harris is the only viable option in free agency besides Jack. The Warriors are in a tough spot here, they may end up having to over pay for Jack.

Center Depth:
Andrew Bogut played very well last season when he was finally healthy. However, there is no telling if he will be completely healthy next season. Therefore they need to add some quality depth behind Ezeli, not named Biedrins. Again, they do not have a draft pick so they have to do all of their shopping in free agency. Nazr Muhammad would be a good pickup for them. Muhammad played very well in the playoffs and showed great toughness and grits. Ronnie Turiaf would also be another good option. Both of these guys would not play much if Bogut was healthy, but if he gets injured, they would make better role players than Biedrins.

Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson are two of the best long distance shooting duos in the league. However, they cannot overpay for Jarret Jack who takes crucial shots away from both Curry and Thompson. Harris would be a better option, but if they miss out on both Harris and Jack, they will be in some major trouble. Resigning Landry is a major no brainer. He is one of the best backup bigs in the league and the Warriors need him back in the worst way. They also need to add center depth because Bogut is injured often. If they can get either Muhammad or Turiaf, they will be in a very food place, even if Bogut is injured. I think the Warriors got lucky this season. I think they will still make the playoffs, but they will not be as successful this upcoming season.
