Cleveland Cavaliers Offseason Needs

Small Forward:
The Cavs landed the first pick in the draft which likely means they will draft Noel. However, they have no need for Noel. They should draft Otto Porter out of Georgetown. As of now, they Cavs are staring Alonzo Gee at small forward, that is not a recipe for success. Porter would add a scoring threat next to Irving which is something the Cavs desperately need. There is really nothing in the free agent market at this position besides Corey Brewer. Even if they draft Porter, they should take a look at Brewer for some depth.

Guard Depth:
I dont think Waiters is good enough to be a starter in the league. He is not and efficient shooter and is not much a threat anyways. Since the Cavs have two draft picks in the first round they can grab a guard with the second pick. Allen Crabbe could be available with that pick. He would be a great addition since he can shoot and he plays well off of the ball which is needed because of Kyrie Irving. They also have a high second round pick. They could use this to snag Glen Rice or Archie Goodwin.

Big Man:
They need a big man, just not with the first pick. Anderson Varejao is often injured and Tyler Zeller likely wont be a starter. They could look for Steven Adams, Mason Plumlee or Jeff Withey. There are loads of talent for big men in the middle of the draft, but they could be scooped up before the Cavs get a chance to pick them. There aren't many big men in the second round so if they draft one it will likely be in the first round. They could also look at Nikola Pekovic or Al Jefferson in free agency. Pekovic would add some much needed toughness down low. Jefferson would not add toughness, but he would be a great offensive threat down low which is something the Cavs need.

The Cavs have their future superstar in Irving, but they do not have a well rounded roster, luckily they have two first round picks. They don't have any quality players elsewhere on the court besides Tristan Thompson. They really need a small forward because Alonzo Gee is not a starter, he is a fringe role player. They just need to get good players and worry about fitting them together later.
