Nuggets Power Forward Situation

Kenneth Faried improved from his rookie season, but he really needs to work on his defense. He is already undersized, but when you couple that with mediocre defensive play, it is a recipe for disaster. With that said, he greatly improved his offensive game, even showing some new post up moves. He is still an energizer on the floor going where ever the ball is. He is a good rebounder, but I would like to see him work to get better position. Overall he just needs to improve, if he continues to do that he will be a great asset to have.

After Faried, the Nuggets dont really have much behind him. They signed Anthony Randolph to a two year contract, but he did not do much this season and was not part of the regular rotation. He looked like the same Anthony Randolph of years past, taking bad shots and dribbling the ball way too much. There is no way the front office can look at him as a piece for the future. He is just a regular bench player.

Landing Carl Landry would be my dream scenario. Landry plays tough physical defense, he is also a good rebounder. However, his best attribute is his ability to score from anywhere inside 18 feet. The Nuggets need this badly. He also hits his free throws which no Nuggets big man can do. Landry would come off of the bench, but he would still get a lot of minutes.

Other than Landry, there is not another Power Forward that I am enamored with. David West could be an option, but he is older. I think the Nuggets like Faried as their starter going forward, but they need to shore up the bench behind him.
