Denver Broncos Free Safety Competition

Rahim Moore made a very bad and very stupid play that destroyed the Denver Broncos season, but that should not negate all of the good plays that he made throughout the season that made him a better player. He was a sure tackler last season, he improved leaps and bounds in his tackling effectiveness. His pass defense still needs a little help, but he has enough raw talent to keep up. He needs to improve his pass defense, but I think he will be very motivated to do so, considering how last season ended.

Behind him the Broncos do not have anyone who can challenge him for his starting spot. Duke Ihenacho will likely be the second string, he is talented for a backup, but he has no chance of supplanting Moore as the starter. Gideon and Rasner have a chance of taking over Ihenacho in his backup role, but it is far fetched.

They will likely only keep five safeties and only two of them will be free safeties. Moore and Ihenacho will be the players to make the team. However, I think Gideon has a decent chance to make the practice squad. Mike Adams can play some free safety, so if anything really catastrophic happens, he can fill in.

Sorry this one was so short, but there is not so much action going on at this position.
