Charlotte Bobcats Offseason Needs

Starting Shooting Guard:
The Bobcats will likely draft McLemore. He would not face any opposition for the starting job. McLemore is very athletic and he can shoot. He should be the first pick in the draft, but he wont be. Right now the Bobcats have Gerald Henderson and Ben Gordon at shooting guard. Gordon is way over payed and will likely not be on the team to start next season. Henderson is the starter as of now, but he has nowhere near the talent of a starter and will be much more effective in a reserve role.

Starting Power Forward:
Byron Mullins is not a starter. That is it. They need someone to replace him with, but unfortunately there is little in the draft or free agency. Anthony Bennet is an option, but he is undersized. The only way he would be picked is if McLemore is off of the board. Paul Millsap is available, but I doubt he signs in Charlotte. Although, he might jump at the opportunity to be the number one option on offense. Tyler Hansbrough is also a free agent and I think he would like the opportunity to start. If they could snag him they could have a decent starter at power forward.

Starting Center:
Bismack Biyombo is not a starter. Hey, this is becoming a theme with the Bobcats. Biyombo is a backup at best. If Noel somehow drops to their pick, I think they would pick him, again assuming McLemore is off of the board. In free agency, they should try and go after Al Jefferson or Pekovic. Pekovic is the more likely option to sign. Pek would be a great option because of his physicality and decent offensive game.

If the Bobcats drafted McLemore and signed both Hansbourgh and Pekovic, they would be in great position to get a top pick next year and get either Wiggins or Parker, both of whom can play small forward. They need many pieces, but they can get most of them this year while getting their major player in the 2014 draft.
