Masai Ujiri Leaves Denver

The man who built this current Denver Nuggets team left for Toronto. Masai Ujiri signed a 5 year 15 million dollar deal with the Toronto Raptors and it seemed like the Nuggets did not even try to match it. Ujiri is fresh off winning NBA Executive of the Year, due to the great job he did of putting together the current Nuggets team.

Kroenke, the Nuggets owner, is far too cheap for his own good. How does one not match any offer for the reigning executive of the year? This could be one of the worst decisions in Nuggets history. Ujiri was a salary cap duo and knew a lot of work arounds, which would have really helped the Nuggets in the offseason.

This could do a lot of damage to the Nuggets in the future. Iguadala is a free agent and he may not come back next season because of this. I have a feeling this team will look much different than it does not, in the near future.

All in all, I wish Ujiri the best of luck in Toronto. I am not mad at him for leaving, I am mad at the owners for not shelling out enough money to keep one of the best execs in the league.

  1. It should not be that bad for Denver. They have some smart people in the front office. You do not get where they are without more than one person who knows what they are doing.

    1. He is the major player in the front office. The Nuggets will feel some hurt because of his departure.
