Miami Heat Offseason Needs

Resign Birdman:
This is obvious, the Heat went on their 27 game win streak, only after Birdman was signed. They have only lost 6 games since then as well. He is no spring chicken though, he will be 35 next season, but as we have seen, he still has some hop in his step. He is their best bench player, he brings a spark that no one else on the team can. They should resign him for 2 years 3 million a year. He will likely be done after that, but during those years he would be a defensive presence off of the bench.

Shooting Guard:
Dwyane Wade has not been particularly effective during the playoffs and many have raised concerns about him getting too old. I think he is just injured and is not playing well because of it. At any rate, the Heat still need a shooting guard for the future. Ray Allen turn 38 next season and he will be a free agent the year after next, which probably means he wont be around much longer. They should be looking to pick up a shooting guard in the near future. Unfortunately for them, they do not have a draft pick at all in this draft. They will likely have to wait until next season to fulfill this need. They likely wont touch the free agent market either. They should be fine for next season, but if they wait any longer they will be in trouble.

Center:
The Heat could use a good starting center. Bosh is playing there now, but that is not his natural position. He would be much more effective if he was playing power forward. He does not match up well with most centers in the league and is especially having trouble with Roy Hibbert in the playoffs. Again, they do not have a draft pick so they will not be able to pick a center up in the draft, but I think they could find some help in Timofey Mozgov. He could start and would provide the Heat with a big presence inside. He would also have a contract that is favorable to the MLE. His presence would allow Bosh to move to power forward where he would be far more effective.

The Heat will have a hard time adding onto what they have now. They have Lebron James so they will continue to be one of the best teams in the league. They should find themselves in, at least, the conference finals again next season and for a couple of seasons afterwards. However, if they want to improve in the long haul, they will need to address the shooting guard and center positions.
