NBA Finals Game Three Preview

With the series headed to San Antonio, tied 1-1, the Spurs will look to win at lease two out of three and head back to Miami for a close out game. With the 2-3-2 system, I think the away team gets the advantage because they get three straight games at hime, which gives them the advantage heading into game six, assuming they take care of business.

San Antonio will be looking to avenge their game two meltdown. I dont think they will play like that twice in a row, look for them to come out at the top of their game. In order for them to do so, they need to get Tim Duncan and Tony Parker some easy looks inside. They both shot terrible from the field in game two, if they were able to use the pick and roll for them to get open shots at the start of the game, they will get hot for the entire game. Kawhi Leonard should continue to play solid defense on LeBron James for the third straight game, but his teammate need to lock down their men. They cannot have Mario Chalmers be the leading scorer again. They also need to close out on three pointers. Ray Allen and Mike Miller destroyed them from deep last game, I am predicting that it does not happen again. Overall, the Spurs will come out more aggressive on their home court in hopes of getting the crowd involved early.

Miami should be very happy about the production that they got out of their role players in game two, especially Chalmers. They cannot expect that type of production again. LeBron will have to be more aggressive, he has only shot the ball 33 times in two games and has only gotten to the foul line six times. If they want to win, they will need a more aggressive LeBron. They cannot expect a good performance out of Wade, he has not shown up for a good game this series. They need Bosh to shoot effectively from the field, when he does, their offense is much more effective. I dont expect him to take any threes at all, much like game two, which would be a good sign for the Heat. The Heat will be looking to steal game three in San Antonio, which would also give them back home court advantage.

Game three might be one of the most important games in these 2-3-2 series'. The winner of this game three will probably go onto win the series. I see no way that San Antonio could recover from a game three loss. Miami has more of a chance since the final two games are in Miami, but this is still a must win for them. Expect a grind-it-out game like game one, rather than a running game like game two. All in all, this will be a very good game, but I think San Antonio will pull it out in the end and take the series lead 2-1.
