Kevin Durant to Hire Jay-Z

Kevin Durant has expressed his interest to leave Landmark Sports, in order to join Jay-Z's Rock Nation Sports. Just last year, Durant signed with Landmark Sports who already had a star basketball player named Kobe Bryant. Durant wants to join Rock Nation Sports, in order to expand his marketing potential, according to Darren Rovell from ESPN.

Kevin Durant is coming off of the best season of his career, in which, he became the 6th player, 10th time, in NBA history to have a 50-40-90 season. For those that don't know, a 50-40-90 season is finishing with a field goal percentage of 50% or more, a three point field goal percentage of 40% or more and a free throw percentage of 90% or more. He is entering the prime of his career and he wants to enter his stride on the marketing side of things. Rock Nation will be able to market him the best out of any agency available.

Durant is the first major basketball signing for Rock Nation and he their biggest star. Rock Nation could take over the agency game in a couple of years, if they are good at it. The appeal of Jay-Z is enough to attract a lot of athletes. I am sure they have a lot of competent agents on their staff, in order to make the players happy. As Rock Nation Sports continues to gain steam, more and more star athletes may be chosen to be represented by them, which does not bode well for a lot of other big name agencies.
