Florida Gators Fullback Competition

The Florida Gator fullback situation is fairly straight forward. Hunter Joyer is the obvious starter. He is not much of a threat in the passing game, but he is the heart and soul of the running game. Without him producing holes last season, the running game would not have been as effective. He is going to be a junior so I expect he will make more strides in his game. If he could become more of a threat in the passing game, he would be a very special player to have on the team.

Gideon Ajagbe is listed as the backup fullback. He has not played a game at fullback for the Gators yet, but in high school he was a dual threat running back and linebacker, so I think he could pull it off.

Again, as I said, the Gator's fullback situation is very straight forward unless Joyer is injured. In that case, I would guess that they would play a less traditional fullback and player Trey Burton a lot. Ajagbe should not see the field unless Joyer is hurt.
