Jason Kidd Retires

The day after his co-Rookie of the Year cohort retired, Jason Kidd finally called it quits. He had an illustrious career that included 107 triple doubles. He was an amazingly underrated point guard when he was with the Mavericks, for the second time. He had a very bad season with the Knicks that was capitalized when he failed to score in 5 of 6 games against the Pacers, but that season should not bring down such a great career.

Kidd had 13 seasons in which he averaged double digit points, eight assists and 6 rebounds. That is something few other NBA players are able to do. He was a master at getting the triple double. Many kids do not know how good he was because they only saw him when he was older.

Kidd solidified a great career when he won an NBA Championship with the Dallas Mavericks. He had a couple of games where he shut down Lebron on the post. The Mavericks would not have won the championship, let alone get to the Finals without Jason Kidd on their team.

This is the end to an illustrious career of an all time great. Kidd will be remembered for his all around game and should be in the Hall of Fame as soon as he is eligible.
