Denver Nuggets Hire Tim Connelly as GM

The Nuggets have hired New Orleans Pelican's assistant general manager to replace Masai Ujiri as the chief decision maker in the Nuggets front office. Connelly is very young, 36 years of age, like Ujiri and he has a lot of potential. He has been working in the NBA since 1996, as an intern. Even with his young age, he has a lot of years in the NBA.

This is obviously Connelly's first major decision making job, but I think it is possible that he will make a good replacement for Ujiri. He has a lot of potential, but it remains to be seen what he wants to do with the team. Does he want to bring in a superstar, via trade, or does he like the road that the Nuggets are currently traveling with no superstar?

His first order of business should be to help find a new head coach. However, he also needs to find a way to convince Iguodala to resign with the Nuggets at a reasonable price. He also needs to decide what to do with other free agents like Corey Brewer and Timofey Mozgov. I doubt he will try and make a big splash this free agency, but things could get interesting as the trade deadline nears.

I don't know if he will be as good as Masia Ujiri, but he is much younger and comes at a much cheaper price. It will also take a while to see if he becomes successful because he might not try and make big moves in his first season.

Although I did not want to see Ujiri leave, he is gone and it is time to move on and I wish Tim Connelly the best in his ventures with the Nuggets.
