Florida Gators Center Competition

Jonottan Harrison is slated as the starting center for this upcoming season. He started at center in every game last season and started every game, across the offensive line, two seasons ago. He has a lot of experience under his belt now that he will be a redshirt senior. He is a good pass and run blocker and does not have a real weakness. He rounds out a good starting group who will help Driskel and give him time to make his reads.

Behind him is Kyle Koehne who will provide very good depth. Koehne played very well last season, when given the opportunity. He appeared in every game, but only started three of them. He played very well in the two of his three starts, Tennessee and Kentucky, but his game against LSU was less than stunning. The fact that he has starting experience, is valuable for a backup, just in case the starter goes down. I don't expect him to see much playing time, but he will be a valuable asset just in case Harrison goes down with an injury.

Kohene is a good backup and I would not be too worried if Harrison went down with an injury. Harrison is a great center to have guiding the offensive line. Center should not be a weak point on this offense. Harrison will be able to pass protect and make holes in the running game, something the Gators will really need if they want their offense to succeed this season.
