Doom has requested his release by tuesday per yard barker. This is a blow to the Broncos because after Von Miller the pass rushing situation is iffy at best. I hope he re-signs with the team, but he feels he can get a big contract elsewhere. He probably feels disrespected when he was asked to restructure his contract.
This opens up a pass rushing defensive end as a need for the Broncos now. Ayers and Wolfe are probably starters, but Wolfe moves inside on passing downs and Ayers has been largely ineffective on passing downs. They need someone to rush on the edge now.
Dwight Freeney is available and is probably the best option in free agency. Margus Hunt would be a nice option in the first round. He is extremely raw, but his skills can be refined to make him a good pass rusher. Tank Carradine was a force to be reckoned with at FSU as he had 13 tackles for loss and 11 sacks. All 3 of these guys would be quality options as replacements for Doom.
