New York Passes Up on Lin

The Knicks just signed their death warrant of not being contenders for the next couple of years. Lin was the reason they went to the playoffs last season. If they didn't go on that winning streak with him they would not have made the playoffs. The Knicks are simply not that good right now Melo doesnt play well with others and Felton will come into camp out of shape. The Knicks will players will now be a couple of years older before they think of contending. Instead of having Lin at starting PG they now have Felton or Kidd. Felton had his best season with the Knick, but that was with D'antoni, he won't be able to run and gun like he did before. He is not that good when he is playing in a standard offense. Kidd is old and while he can still dish he isn't a threat anywhere else on the court. '

You have to give the Rockets credit for backloading this contract in such a way that the Knicks would have to make some serious financial decisions. With the Rockets Lin will most likely be the leading scorer, but he has a bunch of young players to play with including Jeremy Lamb, Terrence Jones and Royce White, all rookies. The Rockets won't be much this year, but look for them to be contenders in a year or two. I have to give major credit to the Rockets on this move.
