The Mavs solidified their center position which made Mahinmi available in the Darren Collison trade. Kaman is not the same player he used to be, but he is still an above average center and they are getting him for a pretty cheap price. Kaman will provide some defense down low and that is something the Mavericks missed last season. Kaman won't put up huge numbers, probably 15 points and 8 rebounds, but you will be able to tell the difference in the win % column.
Grade: B+
The Mavs now boast a starting 5 of Collison, Carter, Marion, Dirk and Kaman. They should be able to contend in the playoffs with that line up, but they should try to get rid of Carter and replace him with someone more reliable.
