Denver Nuggets Summer League

The Nuggets open up summer league tomorrow, but it will be bittersweet for some on the roster. The Nuggets already have 15 players on the active roster so a lot of players no they won't make the team without superstar performances. They are mostly showing off their skills for other teams that didn't land them or for teams overseas if they wish to go over there.

Kenneth Faried and Jordan Hamilton are locks to stay on the team, but Julyan Stone, who was on the team last year, doesnt get such a guarantee. Stone will have to battle it out with Jorge Gutierrez and Derwin Kitchen. It will be tough for him since the Nuggets re-signed Andre Miller in the offseason so  they may choose to only keep 2 Point guards on the roster.

This years draft picks will also have a tough time. Their one saving grace is that the Nuggets may amnesty Birdman. Evan Fournier was the 20th pick in the draft, but he could choose to play one more season in France which would be best for him and the Nuggets because that opens up room for Quincy Miller. Miller has a lot of potential so the Nuggets won't want to risk putting him on waivers. '

Overall I think it will be a successful summer league because players who didn't get one last year, Faried, Hamilton, Stone, will have a chance to improve. I am looking for Faried to keep on developing his offensive game. Hamilton should look at showcasing his defense and all around talent so he can crack the rotation next season. Stone needs to work on a outside shot. Fournier needs to show he can play against NBA talent and still be productive. Miller should focus on his mid range game.
