Broncos Positional Breakdown: DB

The Broncos secondary has improved a lot this offseason. Tracy Porter, Drayton Florence and Mike Adams were added in the offseason. Champ Bailey is still Champ Bailey and shows no signs of slowing down. They could use improvement from Rahim Moore and Quinton Carter though.

Champ Bailey is still one of the best corners in the league, he has not slowed and is still like glue when covering receivers. Andre Goodman was cut in the offseason sand replaced by Tracy Porter. Porter is a good young corner and he should continue improvement this season. Hopefully his does not crack under the pressure of playing with Bailey. Chris Harris was a great undrafted free agent last season. He started at nickel back part way through the season and he was always next to the receiver. Drayton Florence is good, but with this defensive back field don't expect much from him and he may even be cut. Omar Bolden was a second round talent, but was drafted in the 4th because of his knee injury. Sydquan Thompson didn't play last season because of an injury, but he showed flashes in his rookie season so he will be fighting for a roster spot.

Mike Adams was added to be a starter since Dawkins retired. We don't know how good he will be this season. The Broncos need their 2 second round safeties to step up especially Moore who was benched a couple of games into the season. He will make a comeback in my opinion and will take the starting spot at some point maybe even due to injury. Carter took over as starter, but wasn't overly impressive. He can stop the run, but his pass coverage is so-so. David Bruton is mostly a special teams player and doesn't do much on D.
