3 Ways the Heat Can Stop the Thunder in Game 2

The Heat got off to a good start in game 1, but did not finish well. They had OKC by the short hairs in the first half, but they never seemed to pull away. There are various reasons for that, but here are some ways they can improve in game 2 and maybe win.

1. Get D-Wade going early

Spoelstra needs to draw up plays to get Wade going early. That means getting him into the paint for easy shots and getting him into a rhythm. They cannot let him be a jump shooter like he was in game 1 because, as we saw, that is a recipe for disaster. If they get Wade going it will take the pressure off LeBron.

2. Start Chris Bosh

This is the NBA finals there is not another series after this one so here is not a reason to rest Bosh. He is a top PF in the league and he is not used to coming off of the bench. If he starts it puts another threat on the floor. Not only does he need to start, he needs to play 40 minutes there should no longer be a minutes caps on him, this is the Finals we are talking about. He is the best big man on the Heat so there is no reason for him not to start.

3. Keep Harden down

James Harden only had 5 points in game 1 and the Thunder still won. If he scores anything close to 20 the Thunder will win that is why he needs to be kept in single digits. You may not be able to stop Durant and you can slow down Westbrook, but not stop him. Harden can be held in single digits because of the role he plays. If the Heat can hold him to single digits we may have another close game on out hands.
